Jim at the age of 21 was captivated by nineteenth century French landscape paintings. Having studied art history he enrolled for art classes at Chaffey Community College. In 1975 at the age of 24 he became a full time artist and moved to Eureka where he quickly became absorbed in the large art community. In 1984 he met his artist wife Terry. They have studios on their property where he continues to paint daily following his passion for painting from life, trying to capture the light, atmosphere, space and the mysterious beauty around us. Jim is the winner of numerous awards.
