Richard Smith grew up in Alaska and spent fifty years as a commercial salmon fisherman in Bristol Bay. He has always been interested in oil painting and he draws on his memories of his fishing experiences to create paintings of the original sailboats and the newer fishing boats that now harvest salmon the largest salmon fishery in the world.
